Claude, Harold, and myself decided we’d take a trip to the Virginia Beach Convention Center last weekend to check-out the Hampton Roads International Auto Show. First, we made a stop, taking our modern muscle cars to the local Virginia Beach Cars & Coffee meet. Once a month, car enthusiasts and owners meet in Virginia Beach for some coffee and camaraderie. You’ll find cars of every type, make and model. Last week we saw a Rolls Royce, many BMWs (including Russ’ incredible M6), Hondas of every type (including the new CRZ) and a couple of amazing Dodge Vipers (red is the best, sorry Harold).

Coming from Yorktown, VA, this meant getting up at six o’clock and heading to Virginia Beach. Not being a morning person, this was the hardest part of the journey. Luckily, the weather offset the early morning start, as it wasn’t very cold outside. After hanging out at the morning event for a couple of hours, we decided to eat lunch at the Firehouse Sub shop. After our quick snack, we headed to the Virginia Beach Convention Center. The ticket lady was incredibly nice and gave us some coupons (thank you!). We couldn’t believe how many cars were inside. Almost every major manufacturer was present with their newest models. Porsche, Ford, Audi, Hyundai, Toyota, Chevy, Buick and more were represented. Notable cars included the Chevy Volt, convertible Camaro, the ZR1 Corvette, the turbo Sonata, Honda CRZ, Porsche Cayman S, street legal electric golf carts and so many more.

Not only could you admire the cars, you could get inside them, pop their trunks/hoods and dirty them up to your heart’s desire. If you like cars, be sure to visit this annual event.
