Choosing a safe vacation destination is extremely important.  Our city greatly values safety.  High-resolution cameras are placed throughout the oceanfront, deterring would-be criminals from exploiting visitors.  With regard to swimming, lifeguards are standing by to provide assistance when necessary.  They are alert and always attentive.  Last year, over 100 lives were saved.  There are 50 lifeguard stations strategically placed between 1st and 89th street.

If you have a fear of sharks, no need to worry.  In over 100 years, there have only been five bites off the coast of Virginia – with only one fatality.  Shark bite frequency increases the further south you drive.
