The 2016 East Coast Surfing Championship event will celebrate its 54th year in production as over 100 of the worlds best surfing professionals will gather at the southern end of the Virginia Beach resort strip from August 21st to the 28th to compete.

A cherished affair in the surf and skate community in Virginia Beach since 1963, the East Coast Surfing Championships have attained legendary status as the nations’ longest running surf competition; the second longest continuously run surf event in the world.

Alcarez and Deepak Nachnani of Coastal Edge – ECSC’s main sponsor – have brought in some of the surf and skate industry’s most recognizable companies to attend; a fact that should most definitely entice surf zealot’s to the Virginia Beach Boardwalk on event weekend.

As is expected, the venue will generate a festive outdoor experience to be revered. From music, movies, beer tents, and bikini contests to surf, sand sports, paddling and triathlon competitions, the ’16 ECSC event will reinforce its’ reputation as one of the world’s premiere beach and surf celebrations. The ECSC event in Virginia Beach is more than just surfing! There will be a Swim Suit Pageant, 5k, and a Luau. The 5k and Luau are on the same day, August 27th. This begins at 8:00 in the morning at the 5th Street Stage. Mark your calendars! Beach flag football, BMX, Boxing, Cornhole, Volleyball, and Stand Up Paddleboarding races are among the more events ESCS has to offer.
