Interwoven: Presence in the Wood Shop Woodworking for Service Members
This event is open to Special Operations Forces Service Members.
Special Operations Forces Service Members are invited to join Patrick Ryan, owner of Benevolent Designs, and The Station Foundation for a three day woodworking intensive to explore the meditative benefits of craftsmanship. Participants will lean into the mindfulness principles of presence and focus while tapping into creativity. Woodworking provides many psychological and cognitive benefits including stress reduction, mood regulation, improved concentration and spatial skills, and normalizing brain chemistry.
Throughout this three day workshop, each service member will shape and finish two cutting boards. Each participant will take one cutting board home for themselves; the additional cutting board will be auctioned off to raise funds to host additional woodworking workshops for fellow SOF service members.
This three day workshop will be held on:
- Wednesday, March 20 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Thursday, March 21 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
