Stress Relief, Pain Management, and Accelerated Healing by Frances O'Brien | Hypnotherapy | Located in Los Angeles
Emotional Freedom technique, is based on the same ancient Eastern healing system as acupuncture, but it uses fingertips instead of needles. It doesn't require an appointment with a Traditional Chinese Medicine-trained person. The Eastern belief is that you have, within you, a series of meridians, much like those in your circulatory and lymphatic systems. These meridians, however, transport your Life Energy. Any time there's anything wrong anywhere in your life, regardless of what it is or what seems to have caused it, the problem is really caused by a blockage along the meridians, which keeps your Life Energy from flowing freely. Tapping on endpoints along the meridians while discussing the problem releases the blockage and allows your life energy to flow freely again. Hypnotherapy works with the power of your subconscious mind.

Navigating the Healing Journey Post-Cancer Treatment: A Personal Perspective by Pat Wetzel | Bump in the Road | Located in Arizona
Cancer impacts our relationships, finances, and our very identity. It challenges our spiritual and physical perspective on life. But the turmoil that results can also be an opportunity to recraft one’s path forward. Therapists and other post treatment professionals can be a part of that journey. It requires balancing an emotional sensitivity to the cancer experience with the professional expertise to help the patient move toward mind, body, soul congruence. Post cancer treatment is the essence of much needed healing. As a patient who went through six years of on again off again treatments for lymphoma, I am keenly aware of the need for compassion in post cancer care. In this talk, I share some of my perspectives on the opportunities I experienced in terms of healing.

Addressing Exercise and Cancer-Related Fatigue in Cancer Survivors by Kyra Suarez | A Ex Physiologist | Located in Brisbane
Cancer survivors often suffer from cancer-related fatigue (CRF) post-treatment, affecting their quality of life. Accredited exercise physiologists (AEPs) focus on evidence-based strategies to reduce CRF and improve well-being. A meta-analysis indicates that aerobic exercise, less than 12 weeks long with three weekly sessions, effectively alleviates CRF and enhances quality of life, particularly for female clients. This presentation examines the efficacy of exercise interventions for managing CRF, featuring case studies. One case study highlights Mrs. A, a 61-year-old breast cancer survivor with multiple health issues. Engaging in a supervised strength and walking program twice a week, her severe fatigue levels improved to normal within one month, as measured by the Fatigue Assessment Scale. The presentation aims to equip healthcare professionals with tools to integrate exercise into the integrated care of cancer survivors, enhancing their resilience and quality of life.

Fatigue levels remain as the body recovers after chemotherapy and radiation by Kate Butler | Oncology massage |Located in Melbourne
After cancer treatment, patients often deal with issues such as movement difficulties, pain, fatigue, insomnia, and emotional stress. Post-treatment scarring can limit movement, cause postural stress, and lead to residual pain. Abdominal adhesions, cording, and tissue puckering may cause internal catching. Patients might also experience disassociation from body parts altered in function, sensation, or appearance. Fatigue can persist as the body recovers, and insomnia is common, often requiring medication. This period is also when patients begin to process the shock of their diagnosis, often with reduced support services. Oncology massage therapists are trained to address these physical and psychological stresses. Gentle hands-on techniques help with scar mobilization, ease internal adhesions, reduce pain, and improve movement. A positive therapeutic relationship helps patients reconnect with their bodies, promoting deep relaxation, better sleep, and improved energy.

A Journey of Healing and Advocacy in Sexual Health by Melissa Hadley Barrett | Sexologist | Located in Perth
Never would I have guessed I'd become a sexologist. Starting as a Midwife and Remote Area Nurse in the Abrolhos Islands, I encountered diverse health concerns, including sexual health. These experiences fueled my passion for the field. Now, as the head of the Restorative Sexual Health Clinic (RSHC), I focus on restoring sexual function and improving intimate relationships through evidence-based care in a welcoming environment. My path included becoming a Nurse Practitioner, working in academia, and developing natural head lice solutions before a pivotal patient encounter shifted my focus to sexual health. I've helped over 15,000 men recover sexual function post-prostate cancer and launched the first online recovery program. Co-founding "The Penis Project" podcast, I advocate for open discussions on topics like erectile dysfunction and sexual desire. Helping people in this vital area is a privilege I deeply value.
