Who doesnt want to take a Virginia Beach golf vacation? Well, perhaps not everyone, but once you try it, especially in Virginia Beach, you’re going to love it for life. In addition to some of the world’s best golfing, we have amazing local museums, the beach life, and fine dining and restaurants. Of course, if you are an avid golfer, it’s the greens you’re looking for in an oceanfront vacation. So where are all the best spots to golf?
Virginia Beach, VA was a regular stop for the Nationwide Golf Tour. This should tell you just how perfect the weather and the environment are year round for the sport. Find a gorgeous oceanfront hotel (maybe with a spa to keep the wife happy), and then embark on any one of the local scenic golf courses.
Two of the best Virginia Beach golf courses are Heron Ridge and Bay Creek Palmer. Heron Ridge features 13 holes that cover natural wetlands and water hazards. Rolling hills slowly make way to mature oaks and beech trees in a lush scene. Golfers of every skill level will find something to love about this course. Bay Creek Palmer is another area favorite. Designed by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, this fantastic 18 hole course is a beauty. The views are breathtaking, and the shots are challenging, which is usually why it is often hailed as the best course in the east coast. Perfectly kept Bermuda greens are sure to bring a smile to your face!
The Red Wing Golf Course is another top favorite. It was designed by George Cobb and has seen an extensive $5 million dollar renovation recently. The character of the land has been enhanced, though the beauty of mature pines and other trees has been maintained. There are so many great Virginia Beach golf courses that you wont be able to play them all in one vacation!
Stumpy Lake Golf Course, Riverfront Golf Club, and the Signature at West Neck are some other top ranking golf destinations the pros cant pass up. The Virginia Beach National (formerly the Tournament Players Club) was designed by Pete Dye and is over 7,000 yards of golf course once used for the Virginia Beach Open. Come test your skill and enjoy the beauty of the course around you! Now dont forget to take your family out to dinner and have some fun with them too. (Though we true golfers know that golf is the real attraction!) Enjoy your great golf vacation in Virginia Beach, Virginia!
