- The weather stays pretty darn nice up to about early November and then recovers in spring, making Virginia Beach almost a four-season golfing destination (it’s definitely possible to golf here more than three seasons).

- Arnold Palmer was the architect at The Signature at Westneck and claims to have the longest tee for a par 72 at an amazing 7,280 yards.
- Fred Couples designed The Heron Ridge course with a rating of 73.9 and a slope rating of 131.
- The Virginia Beach National Golf Club opened in May 1999. Designed by Pete Dye (with help from PGA Tour Hall of Famer Curtis Strange), the club offers golfers a rolling fairways, a blend of natural grasses, and more. The club is the home of the Nationwide Tour’s Virginia Beach Open.
- Hell’s Point Golf Club is heaven for golfers. This club opened in 1982. The American Society of Golf Course Architects rates it as one of the 100 best-designed courses in the U.S.
- Stumpy Lake Golf Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones and is located within a 1,400-acre nature preserve. You’ll see no signs of development here, but you probably will see eagles, deer, fox, ospreys, and even the occasional bear.
- Originally designed by George W. Cobb, the Red Wing Lake golf course was recently refurbished, with all greens rebuilt and shaped and seeded with Bent grass. Multiple tees allow golfers of any skill level to match their ability to a teeing location.
