Mermaid Rachel is as incredibly beautiful and talented as the Virginia Beach oceanfront itself. She volunteers much of her time and effort into creating and writing articles about VA Beach and answering questions for tourists right here on this website. She also handles our social media campaigns using Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. She is about to finish her degree in criminal justice at Old Dominion University.
She’s a lifelong resident of Hampton Roads, growing up on Grandview Island (one of the secret beaches in the area) in Hampton, VA. Being a local, she’s quite comfortable in the water. She’s an avid swimmer, sailor, and national synchronized swimming champion. To say being in the water is second nature to her would be quite an understatement.
In her spare time, she’s starting to model (that’s really her in the picture above). When she’s not helping with the website, she can be found playing with her Black Labrador, Josie.
