Free Concerts in Virginia Beach- the list of things to do in Virginia Beach is always growing! Virginia Beach is known for its popular boardwalk that is always jamming with live music! Street after street is something new to listen to, especially in summer evenings. July is packed with free concerts to enjoy right at the VA Beach Oceanfront! We have a list of all the free music you will be hearing in July 2016.
First up… Sandstock
Virginia Beach is putting its own spin on Woodstock with their very own Sandstock- A Tribute To Rock and Roll! This tribute to rock and roll will include music styles of good ole Rock and Roll. Enjoy cover bands of Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Bon Jovi, ZZ Top and so many more. There will be dueling stages of the bands with fitting names! The two stages at Sandstock are called Hippy Dippy and Flower Power. This fun concert series will be located at 24th Street Park. The dates of Sandstock are July 1-3. The music begins at 6:30PM and lasts until 11:00PM! Of course, this event is FREE and open to the public.
Stars & Stripes Explosion
This Fourth of July concert extravaganza is perfect for celebrating Independence Day at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront! There will be three stages rocking with music. Find music of all genres here at this event. Motown, Rock and Roll, Country, and Pop music will all be played by a big variety of performers! After all the music, you will hear the music of fireworks! Fireworks at the beach are the best you will see. The bright lights on the water’s reflection is something not to miss. There will also be a musical tribute to the men and women who serve the USA. This fun and memorable Stars Stars & Stripes Explosion will be on July 4, 2016. The music starts 7:00PM. The three stages will be the Dairy Queen Grill and Chill 17th Street Stage, 24th Street Stage, and the 31st Street Stage. The fireworks are planned to begin at 9:30PM.
The Life and Music of Ella Fitzgerald
This concert series will be played multiple times during the month of July. You will find this great tribute to Ella Fitzgerald where 26th Street meets the Boardwalk. All of the shows throughout the month start at 8:30PM. The dates of this popular show are July 5, 7, 12, 18, 19, 21, 25, 26, and 28. See how Virginia Beach gives tribute to the Queen of Jazz! Virginia Beach is one of the best places in the whole world to pay tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, as she was born and raised only 30 minutes away from the beach!
Fireworks ALL MONTH LONG!
The fireworks at the Virginia Beach Boardwalk/Oceanfront are super plentiful in the summer. The lights dazzle and sparkle over the ocean’s waves making it a spectacular way to view fireworks. Although this may not be considered a real concert, it is certainly a sight to see… and hear. Of course, fireworks will happen on the Fourth of July at 9:30PM. The dates later in the month for fireworks are the 10th, 13th, 17th, 20th, 24th, 27th, and the 31st and fireworks will begin at 10:00PM
