The Virginia Beach Oceanfront is an amazing place where the Atlantic Ocean and the shores of Virginia Beach meet. Why do families come here year after year as part of their vacationing ritual?
Small Town Community
Virginia Beach is a wonderful and caring coastal community with a small-town charm to it. The extensive clean golden sands, the amazing and historic fishing pier, the many gift shops, restaurants, and ice-cream parlors give the Virginia Beach Oceanfront a lovely holiday feel — and it’s a fantastic place to live and work. The VA Beach Oceanfront is definitely the hottest attraction in the whole city! There’s always plenty of sights to see.
Things To Do
You have the option when visiting the oceanfront to either sit on the lovely soft sand and soak up the sun rays or walk the main street and go gift shopping, even try out one of the small restaurants, rent a bike or buggy for a cruise on the bike path, or if you are feeling extra energetic, you can leisurely stroll the entire length of the boardwalk, and lots more.
Attractions
Virginia Beach has many statues and monuments along the Oceanfront. The Virginia Legends Walk is one of them; it was built to honor Virginians who have made significant differences to our country and the world. The walk has plaques with the name of the person and a little bit of information about what that person has achieved and where they are from. They include Patsy Cline to Thomas Jefferson.

There is of course, the King Neptune Statue which is easily the most famous statue on the boardwalk! He stands over 30 feet tall and is holding a gigantic loggerhead turtle. There are two dolphins behind him, and an octopus to the left of him. This statue at the boardwalk is larger than life. This is a must-see. There are plenty of other smaller statues that Virginia Beachgoers love. Fish, turtles, hermit crabs, and others are all some examples of what you will see when walking the boardwalk. There are many attractions that will keep you and your family entertained and having a blast!

There are a nice variety of places to eat near the Oceanfront; the usual fast-food restaurants such as McDonalds and Subway, but also more traditional restaurants that serve up fresh seafood, bars and grills and a nice Italian restaurant.
