First Landing State Park offers an array of nature activities to enjoy like going swimming, hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, or laying out a towel to have a scenic picnic.

About First Landing State Park

This Virginia Beach nature park is named First Landing for a reason! This park was where settlers first landed in 1607. These waters were navigated by merchant mariners, pirates, and military vessels during the War of 1812.

With this park containing so much history and beauty, it’s no wonder why it’s Virginia’s most visted state park!

Special Note To Visitors

First Landing State Park is used by the military at times for training purposes. With military training purposes, you may see the training efforts taking place. The training may include loud noises or ususual sights. It’s important to note that these are just training, and no harm will come of these military actions.

Fees

Parking fees vary depending on the timing of parking (peak and off season.) The prices vary only from $5-9 per up to 8 passenger vehicle.  

Parking a vehicle here that holds 9-15 passengers will pay a fee of $10-12. 

The standard camping fee is $24 per night. 

If you’re looking for camping experience with the works (water and electric hookup), it’ll be $35 per night.
