If nothing sounds better to you than the roar of a monster truck crunching steel, then Monsters on the Beach will have you in awe. This May, Pungo Offroad hosts Monsters on the Beach.

2023 Dates of Monsters on the Beach are May 19th – 21st.

Monsters on the Beach is a thrilling family event that takes place right on the Virginia Beach oceanfront itself. Bleachers are on 6th Street and overlook the boardwalk. You’ll be able to hear waves crashing in the background – that is if you can hear them over the roar of the massive supercharged engines of all the monster trucks. The hot sand and scrap metal cars make the course entertaining for spectators and fun for drivers. Past monster trucks to visit the beach have included:

• Gunslinger
• Stone Crusher
• Grave Digger
• Virginia Giant
• Megasaurus

Take a ride in a monster truck

Each year, a different famous monster truck descends on the beach to give our monster truck rides. These rides are a big hit with children of all ages (including the young at heart) and are offered on a smaller track built for this attraction. Rides are offered on the beach at 4th Street at the following times:

• Friday from 5 PM – 10 PM
• Saturday from 10 AM – 10 PM
• Sunday from Noon – 5 PM

If you have your own truck and want to show off, local truck owners are encouraged to enter the Tough 4×4 Competition and the Eastern Truck & Accessories Show & Shine. These events feature local drivers on the same track used by the monster trucks. The Eastern Truck & Accessories Show & Shine is a judged truck show competition offering trophies to the best trucks. Truck enthusiasts will also enjoy the merchandise offered by local and regional off-road truck shops. Monster truck drivers also offer their own merchandise after each show, including autograph sessions.
