Have you ever seen a real, live mermaid? Chances are, you’ve been waiting your whole life to see one… That’s why you should attend the Virginia Aquariums special event, Mermaid Mondays!
Mermaid Mondays Times and Dates
Each Mermaid Monday begins at 6 p.m. and lasts until 9 p.m.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and punctuality is preferred!

Mermaid Mondays Event Activities
- Explore the Bay & Ocean Pavilion from 6-9 p.m.
- View a real, live mermaid swimming in the Red Sea Aquarium
- Visit with a mermaid at the Ray Touch Pool and at the Norfolk Canyon Aquarium
- Enjoy story time with a mermaid and a mermaid puppet show
- Listen to musical performances by Shelly and Rainbow
- Make a mermaid sun catcher to take home
All of these events are included in the base ticket price.

Meet the Red Sea Mermaid
“Take an exclusive staff-guided tour above the Red Sea Tunnel to meet the mermaids! Watch from above the water as the mermaids swim among the spotted eagle rays and colorful Red Sea residents, and talk with them about what it means to be a mermaid! Each tour is 15 minutes; see restrictions below.
Cost: $75 per person, limit of 4 per session. 6:50PM & 7:50PM. Price includes Mermaid Behind the Scenes plus the regular Mermaid Monday experience listed above.
Restrictions: Participants must be at least 52? tall and children under the age 13 must be accompanied by an adult. To enable full viewing of the mermaids by guests, strollers are not allowed for this event. Participants must be able to climb stairs.” – Information from Virginia Aquarium’s website.
Mermaid Balee’s Bubble Boutique
“Exclusive, limited engagement offering: Join Mermaid Balee for this extra-special event with a very limited number of spaces! Mermaid Balee?s Bubblee Boutique will immerse your 4 to 10 year old child in the world of mermaids with a unique salon treatment fit for the sea! Guests will receive the full mermaid make-over: hair, nails, and face make up, while enjoying snacks fit for a mermaid, and participating in fun mer-activities. Then, to top it off, guests will be treated to a special viewing of the mermaids inside the Red Sea Tunnel!
