FunkFest Beach Party

This groovin’ party is the FUNKIEST music festival in Virginia Beach! The FunkFest Beach Party, featuring Africana Virginia Beach packs a weekend full of soulful tunes. Jazz, smooth R&B, disco, and all things with the 60s-70s feeling vibe will all be played and celebrated at this music festival! Dust off the old moves, and bring them! You will need them, because there will be a dance contest! This will be a party unlike any others! Groove to the music at the 24th Street Stage. There will be food for purchase here as well as merchandise. This VA Beach event has it all!

From this events past there has been entertainment from performers like James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, The Ohio Players, and George Clinton!

The 2016 FunkFest will have these acts:
Friday, August 26 (9:30 PM): The Bar-Keys
Saturday, August 27 (9:35 PM): Cameo

On Saturday at noon, a special Jazz party ON THE BEACH will be hosted by Africana! This special party is called Jazz To The Beat Oceanfront Party. There will be a ton of entertainment here including DJs, dancing, and the culture of Hip-Hop and Jazz combined. This is a mature, educated, and increasingly affluent African-American audience attending this event. The organizers have estimated that around 15,000 people will come to FunkFest throughout the three day event!

General Admission is FREE!
(Jazz To The Beach Oceanfront Party is $10 per person.
