Atlantic Coast Kite Festival

Come down to the VA Beach Oceanfront for the 13th Annual event, the Atlantic Coast Kite Festival!

Be a part of the kite contest! In order to enter, participants must bring a kite that they have made or have bought and fly it at the festival. The judging of the kite contest is divided into two sections: how it flies, and how it is made. Everything about the kite is judged down to the craftsmanship of the kite, the visual aspect of the kite, and of course the FLYING ability! The kite must fly in the air 100 ft up for FIVE minutes to be eligible to win.

This competitive contest will be divided into three arenas: Novice, Youth, and Master.

The Best Kite Contest is free to enter and takes place from 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm.

Don’t know how to fly a kite? This event is still for you! Take part in their Flight Training, where you can learn how to fly a kite from the experts! Flight Training is available throughout this event.
Training includes lessons on how to choose a kite that is right for you, set up of the kite lines, set up of the field, and how to properly launch and land a kite safely.
