Have you heard of people getting jobs using online freelancing websites but don’t know what they really are  and whether they’re right for you?

You’ve to come to the right place! Grab your coffee, tea or drink of choice and get ready to hear answers to questions like, “What is freelancing, and how do I navigate these freelance websites?” and “How do I earn income using these websites?”

This new way of work is growing rapidly. According to the Upwork Freelance Forward Report, freelancing is at an all-time high, with freelancers making up 38% of the U.S. workforce. And older adults are a major part of this workforce, with 8.3 million freelancers age 59 and above.

There are thousands of opportunities to earn income as a freelancer. Whether you want to work in creative, writing, marketing, tutoring, design or administration fields, there are companies listed on online freelance websites looking for remote help right now.

“What Is Freelancing?” Coffee Chats is a 90-minute interactive workshop and discussion group. We’ll go over the basics of what it means to be a freelancer, the types of available opportunities, and some of the administrative responsibilities that come with being a freelancer. We’ll also have an engaging discussion about the unique experiences that adults over 50 have as freelancers and how to navigate the online freelancing market.

By the end, you’ll have a better understanding of what freelancing is, whether freelancing is the right path for you, and what others who have taken this journey before have learned. All this should help you decide if and how you start as a freelancer online.

As part of registering for this workshop, you will also receive access to the Work for Yourself@50+ Freelancing Resource Center. After you register for this workshop, you will receive an email allowing you to activate your free account.

This workshop is hosted by Angela Heath, a gig economy expert, and president of TKC Incorporated. The workshops will help you navigate the gig economy to turn your hobbies into revenue-generating side-hustles. What are you waiting for? Sign up today!
