DESCRIPTION:Saturday, June 15 | 10 a.m.–5 p.m.\nOn the boardwalk from 16th-18th Streets\nFREE and open to the public\n2024 Theme: Flights of Fantasy\n\nWitness the transformation of the Virginia Beach Boardwalk as artists unite for Chalk the Walk, turning the boardwalk into a vibrant canvas of color!\nDuring Chalk the Walk, participants create extraordinary four-by-four-foot chalk drawings along three blocks of the boardwalk. Competitors unleash their creativity with themed chalk drawings to be assessed by a panel of judges. Evaluation criteria include composition, use of color, adherence to the theme, and overall creativity. The competition features three divisions: Amateur, Professional, and Youth (ages 12-16).\n​​What kinds of fantastic fantasy worlds can you imagine?  Let books, games, movies, TV, or your own imagination guide you in creating chalk art right on the “canvas” of the Virginia Beach boardwalk.  Scenes, characters, lands, experiences, architecture, transportation, and more are all waiting to be explored as chalk art depicting Flights of Fantasy.\nTo qualify for the competition, all participants must register by 12:30 pm, and drawings must be completed by 3:30 pm to be eligible for prizes.
