|
Ringing out the summer season with something for everyone.
The Neptune Boardwalk festival is the final event of a summer long series of ways to have fun.
Starting with a wine tasting festival on May 15th, the Neptune Festival includes an invitational
golf tournament, black tie events, a tennis tournament and a benefit walkathon. All this leads
up to the fun fill excitement of the Neptune Beach Festival which is held in late September.
People from all over the world come to be a part of this celebration of beach life.
This year's Neptune festival marks the 31st year of the event. It is one of the country's
top 100 festivals, and it is in the top 10 on the East Coast.
One of the feature events of the weekend is the North American Sand Sculpting Championship.
This event showcases more than 300 competitors bringing the grains of beach sand to life.
You thought you were impressive with your pail and shovel. These people are professionals!

The event is free for viewing and is sure to impress. The pictures really don't do the sculptures
justice. The only way to really appreciate these amazing works is in person. Make sure to mark
your calendar and be present for next years competition.
Of course, there's more than just sand. Hundreds of vendors line the boardwalk offering everything
from crabcakes to fine art. You can't get this stuff anywhere, making the Neptune festival a
unique experience for everyone.
Another big part of the weekend is the live music. There are serveral stages playing all types
of music, so you can be sure to find what you're looking for. From local bands to international
acts, the jam is on!
